Meteorologists are at a loss to explain a “weather event” that has marred Snoop Dogg’s performance at this year’s AFL Grand Final and reduced the visibility in the MCG to the point that no one in attendance could actually see any of it.

The unprecedented phenomenon struck as Snoop was making his entrance to perform and hovered over the MCG for the duration of his performance, only to lift as he made his final exit.

‘Queen of Meteorology’ Jane Bunn kindly explained that, “Shit was fucked, it was crook as.” “I ain’t never seen nothink like that, it was real smoky just like smoke. Made me think something was on fire or burning”, Ms Bunn continued, “Coulda been fog or mist maybe but it smelled like a fire. What’s the difference between fog and mist? Is one water and the other one sumpin else?”

Snoop’s performance has received widespread praise with people raving mostly about his excellent vocal performance and the hit-stacked setlist. The vocal performance was so good, in fact, that many have questioned whether Snoop was there at all in the smoky haze or if the AFL just plugged an MP3 player into some speakers to save some money.

“He was real real good sounding, he done great I reckon”, Ms Bunn said, “Woulda liked seeing them doing all the dancing and that but that’s weather for ya! Ya can’t predict the weather so why even try?”

With the “weather event” thankfully clearing just before first bounce, the game was able to proceed as scheduled for an exhilarating clash under blue skies where the Brisbane Lions proved too strong for the Geelong Cats. Despite clear skies, a similar phenomenon was spotted by latecomers a short time afterwards hanging over Snoop’s lowrider as he left the stadium.

More to come.

Editor’s Note: In retrospect, we suspect the person Jed talked to was not in fact 7NEWS Presenter and ‘Queen of Meteorology’ Jane Bunn but an obliging and drunken ‘wrong-number’ with no meteorological expertise.
